Discipleship Ministries at St. Joseph provides paths an individual
or family may walk to grow as joyful disciples of Jesus Christ.
To be a disciple of Jesus Christ is to hear His word and live it. It is to celebrate the sacraments. It is to share His goodness with the community and to the world. All of this has to be grounded in the trust and knowledge that we are each seen, known, accompanied, and loved by God who made us! In order to be a joyful disciple of Jesus Christ we must first receive His love.
Discipleship Ministries exists to do all this! When we reach out to the homebound, we receive, proclaim, and bring His love. When we gather for Building the Domestic Church, we rejoice in and share His saving love. When we prepare to receive the sacraments of Matrimony, Confirmation, or Baptism, our preparation is a celebration of His love.
Please join us! Opportunities for you to participate would include:
- Kerygma Encounter Retreats - These retreats are a day spent proclaiming the mysteries of our God and his great plan for you. Short catechesis is provided together with multiple prayer times. These are great for renewing your faith or for parishes seeking to prepare individuals for work as catechists or for engaged couples as part of the Marriage Catechumenate. Register Here.
- Building Domestic Church - Our Sunday morning sessions geared toward helping families live a life centered on Jesus.
- The Case for Jesus - Presented by Formed.org. Dr. Brandt Pitre explains some historical evidence for believing in the accounts of Jesus in the four Gospels. Thursdays from January 5 - March 2, 2023. Come back here for registration in November.
- Magnify 90 - A 90-day spiritual challenge for women beginning in January. This challenge includes reflections on virtues and ascetic practices for the 90 days leading up to Easter celebration. Check it out!
- Q & A about the faith - St. Joe will host a few sessions this fall where either Fr. Gary or Tim Carpenter will be available to answer your questions about the faith. These will take place at the end of our parish potluck lunches on the second Tuesday of each month, starting in December 13. So bring a question about the faith and a dish to pass (the dish can be something simple.)
- Lenten Mission - Thursday evenings, 6:30 - 8:30, March 2, 9, 16, 23. Fr. Gary will lead us in both catechesis and practice of prayer.
Call Tim Carpenter or Mindy Bianchini if you have any questions.
